🎬 Development & Project Coordinator

(Part-Time – 21 hrs per week)

GK Media Studios is evolving.

We are building beyond digital content and podcast production and positioning ourselves as an Irish-focused, European-facing Film & TV production company.

To support that direction, we are looking for a Development & Project Coordinator to help build our next chapter — growing our Digital Training Hub into a talent ecosystem and developing real projects for screen.

The Vision

GK Media Studios aims to become:

  • A producer of Irish stories with international reach

  • A development home for emerging writers and filmmakers

🎥 Project Development

  • Identify, assess and nurture new film & TV project ideas

  • Work with writers on early-stage treatments and outlines

  • Coordinate development applications (Screen Ireland, Talent Schemes, etc.)

  • Track deadlines and funding opportunities

  • Support script development processes

🌱 Digital Training Hub – Courses That Foster Talent Development

  • Help design and deliver scriptwriting and producing programmes

  • Build relationships with emerging creators

  • Co-ordinate mentorships and guest industry speakers

  • Support the commissioning of short films through DTH

  • Maintain a database of talent (writers, directors, crew)

🤝 Industry Relationships

  • Build and maintain relationships with our clients and collaborators

  • Attend networking events and industry meetups where relevant

  • Support GK Media Studios’ positioning within Irish and EU film networks

đź—‚ Strategic Coordination

  • Organise development slates and project documentation

  • Assist in building production-ready packages

  • Research European co-production opportunities

  • Support funding strategy and long-term planning

Who This Role Suits

  • Have experience working on short films or indie productions

  • Understand the Irish funding landscape (or are eager to learn it deeply)

  • Have strong organisational and communication skills

  • Enjoy nurturing creative ideas and helping shape them

  • Are proactive and comfortable taking initiative

  • Want to help build something long-term

  • See yourself working in Film & TV production

Please note - this is a Junior Development role, with the potential to grow within the company. This is not suitable for experienced producers seeking mid-level or senior compensation. You do not need a huge track record. But you must be serious about film and development.

Essential Qualities

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Ability to read and assess scripts critically

  • Organised and deadline-driven

  • Comfortable dealing with multiple projects at early stages

  • Passion for Irish storytelling and European collaboration

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Experience in script development or producing

  • Knowledge of Screen Ireland schemes

  • Understanding of Creative Europe or EU funding

  • Experience working with emerging filmmakers

  • Event or workshop coordination experience

  • Irish language speaker (highly valued but not essential)

Hours & Location

  • 21 hours per week

  • Based primarily at GK Media Studios, Galway

  • Some flexibility depending on industry events and schedules
