The Team
Garry Kelly
Founder & Managing Director
Garry Kelly is an Irish producer, podcaster, and media entrepreneur based in Galway, Ireland. He is the Founder and Managing Director of GK Media Studios (est. 2013) — a multi-award-winning digital content and production company working across film, video, podcasting, and live media — and a co-founder of DIG Productions Ltd. (est. 1999). His career spans film and television production, branded storytelling, broadcast media, mentoring, marketing, and education.
With more than a decade building GK Media Studios, Garry has led the creation of hundreds of high-quality productions for businesses, charities, cultural organisations, and public bodies across Ireland and Europe. The studio has been recognised with multiple industry honours, including Business All-Star Connaught Digital Agency of the Year (2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026) and National Podcast Studio of the Year (2025 & 2026), reflecting its reputation for storytelling, technical excellence, and reliability.
As a producer, his recent screen work includes the TV pilot Sarah Butler At Home (2025), the short film Longing (2024), and the short documentary Echoes (2024). Earlier producing credits include the Screen Ireland (formerly the Irish Film Board) shorts Riders To The Sea (2011) and The Night-Nurse (2010), and for RTÉ and Ardán (formerly the Galway Film Centre), The Funeral Parlour (2004) and The Longest Day (2003). His development slate includes The Green Bloods by Irish-American writer Catherine Fitzpatrick Villari and Bold by writer/director Dylan Ryan Phelan, alongside a growing pipeline of feature and scripted projects in collaboration with Irish and international creatives — rooted in community, regional storytelling, and supporting voices outside traditional industry centres.
Garry also brings deep broadcast and education experience. He worked as a Live Producer/Presenter with Galway Bay FM, including Head of Irish Music (2018–2020), contributed to Newstalk, and presented on Eurosport. He is a fully registered Further Education teacher with the National Teaching Council of Ireland and a long-time tutor across universities and colleges, delivering practical training in scriptwriting, digital video, radio, and sound production.
He is also the host of the Garry Talks podcast series — including Garry Talks: Film — interviewing filmmakers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders about craft, career, and creativity. The show has ranked in the top charts in Ireland and is supported by industry partners including the WRAP Commission and Gréasán na Meán Skillnet.
Driven by a belief in purposeful storytelling, mentorship, and long-term legacy, Garry’s work bridges business, culture, and community — focused on creating meaningful content that connects people and preserves stories for the future.
